What we do
Global Play Lab aims to advance playful, experiential learning by bridging the gap between research and practice. We support governments and partners to develop and implement practical and engaging resources, tools, frameworks and programs to harness the power of play to improve children’s learning experiences and outcomes and achieve their full potential.
Policy
We work with partners to develop clear, persuasive, and evidence-informed policy, guidelines, and recommendations that centre children’s experiences, uphold child rights and safety, and align with our mission to improve children’s learning outcomes. We draw on deep knowledge of education system challenges and collaborate with those affected by and invested in change.
Strategy
We help partners to achieve their education policy goals through strategic planning, identifying key priorities, locating and allocating resources, and engaging stakeholders at state, national and community levels.
Research
We bring extensive research expertise, helping partners such as UNESCO-APCEIU to identify key research questions and the most efficient path to answers using a range of methods—from reviews and case studies to multi-year mixed-methods research—while specialising in ethical, child-safe, and participatory research aligned with best practice.
Programming
We work with partners to design, plan, budget, and scope programs from concept to evaluation, develop cost-effective monitoring and evaluation plans to measure impact, support long-term sustainability through funding strategies, and craft compelling grant applications to maximise your chances of securing financial support
Communications
In a world of messaging by generative AI, a unique and thoughtful human voice is an asset. We can support you to craft and personalise your key messages to engage stakeholders in creative, authentic ways. We deliver masterclasses, webinars, keynotes, and presentations, panel discussions and workshops that leverage the best technology platforms to maximise interaction and deep learning.
Monitoring & evaluation
Successfully planning, monitoring, and measuring impact—especially for playful, transformative learning programs—is challenging. We bring an evaluation mindset from the start, using a range of approaches, including results-based, participatory, theory-based, use-focused, and M&E for learning to align evidence collection with clear goals.
Capacity development
We offer workshops, mentoring and tailored support to help individuals and organisations build practical skills and deepen their understanding of playful experiential learning, policy and research through interactive, evidence-based and hands-on experiences.
Curricula analysis & review
We partner with organisations to review, analyse and revise curricula to align with policy, practice and learning goals, connecting content, addressing gaps and applying inclusive, culturally responsive approaches to support meaningful learning outcomes.
